Steps and Processes

  • Think about what objects could fulfill the natural and professional roles

  • After deciding on objects, theorize on how they should be displayed

Brainstorming

  • Setup up backdrop and floor piece for professional in personal room

  • Adjusted controller and lights as needed depending on the photo taken

  • Order Denny’s breakfast plate for natural shoot

  • neatly plate food on home plate and place over sunlight shining through window onto dining table

  • Moved camera and utensils accordingly throughout the photoshoot

  • Photos taken with Canon camera

Photoshoots

  • Imported all photos from camera to lightroom

  • Selectively picked two photos which were deemed good to be presented

  • Edited photos for better exposure, contrast, etc

  • Exported all photos taken as samples onto contact sheets

This project was very interesting for Devin because it made him think outside the box. He always knew about xbox controllers and a simple breakfast, but now he has to think about how to display them and how they interact with their surroundings. Lighting and perspective were the main things that were adjusted throughout the photoshoot since the object is still so the only thing moving is yourself. Many and many photos were taken just to get down to four photos for turn in and presentation. This project served as a stepping stone in Devin’s photography experience with positioning and lighting.
