Series Project

Steps and Processes

  • Made a collection of ideas/concepts which were related to me and covid

  • Decided to go with emotions as it’s something anyone can familiarize with

  • Began planning with friends and visualizing

Brainstorming

  • Planned photoshoots with friends to capture each emotion

  • took many many photos as experimentation for the right angle, lighting, etc.

  • Utilized many aspects learned in class such as indirect lighting, camera angles, composition, and color

  • Camera used was Canon

Photoshoots

  • Imported all photos to lightroom for editing

  • Collectively grouped them together as a series

  • created a script which would go hand in hand with the photography presentation and added to the viewing experience(series was presented over zoom to class)

  • Emotions are separated as either positive or negative, thus they are edited to either cool or warm tones for better understanding and display

  • Warm tones indicate a positive emotion while cooler tones indicate a negative emotion

This project was very fun for Devin to do because not only does he enjoy photography, but he was able to work with his friends as well. The project was more of a field day because the scheduling, photoshooting, reviewing, and editing all felt fun and not like work. Photography has always been something Devin is passionate about and being able to share his academic experience with friends for a project is unmatched to most if not all collaborative projects he’s done in the past. Not only that, the class and professor received this presentation very well with some even reacting to it on a emotional level which really left a good message for Devin as that was his goal, to connect to the class through photos. In the end, Devin was proud of his work and would do this kind of work a thousand times over.
